ADP Manager, Competitive Intelligence in Florham Park, New Jersey

ADP is hiring a Competitive Intelligence Manager . In this position you will be considered the subject matter expert across a defined set of key competitors in the financial services and human capital management marketplace and will monitor and analyze competitive activities and trends. The Competitive Intelligence Manager will provide strong competitive intelligence and actionable insights and will provide competitive messaging and positioning for the sales, relationship management, and service teams and will also be responsible for determining implications of competitive moves and marketplace changes on ADP. The Competitive Intelligence Manager will work with members of the Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Strategy teams to support strategic and tactical decisions. This position will report to the Director of Strategy of ADP Retirement Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary areas of responsibility for the Competitive Intelligence Manager will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Gather information on key competitors through a variety of sources including, but not limited to internal data, online research, complex internet search techniques, industry analysts, social media, interviews with clients and prospects, trade shows, consulting studies, and ADP's sales and services associates.

  • Develop advanced understanding of competitive technologies, products, initiatives, and trends in the financial services space.

  • Inform strategic direction for Sales, Sales Ops / Enablement and marketing decision-making based on the evolving competitive landscape and answer competitive questions from sales reps, service associates, relationship managers, and other stakeholders.

  • Organize, analyze, and distill information on ADP's key competitors into actionable intelligence and recommendations for key stakeholders and create actionable, effective, and frequently updated competitive positioning assets (e.g., playbooks, cheat sheets, etc.) for our client-facing and prospect-facing associates while focusing on delivering compelling content and creative storytelling in CI communications to motivate action.

  • Conduct deep competitor assessments across strategic roadmap, portfolio capabilities, go to market efforts, sales, service delivery and financials so that the business unit can better understand how ADP stacks up and identify opportunities.

  • Develop insights on best-in-class competitors and emerging niche players.

  • Provide informed evaluations of competitors in key strategic dimensions, including technology, product, service, and marketing.

  • Build and maintain competitive intelligence assets for key stakeholders (i.e., Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Product Marketing).

  • Support the development of ADP's product strategy, service strategy, marketing strategy, and sales strategy through impactful competitive intelligence.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • 5 years of relevant experience in roles such as, but not necessarily limited to, competitive intelligence, strategy consulting, research and analysis, or market insights.

  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably in business, journalism, or a related field)

  • Financial Services, Human Capital Management or broader B2B experience.

  • Excellence in documentation and developing sales and marketing assets and competitive intelligence tools.

  • Well-organized, data driven, and comfortable managing multiple projects.

  • Ability to present to executives in a professional manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS. Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • MBA or similar degree preferred.

  • Analysis: Excellent analytical skills, i.e., able to dissect business issues, analyze large amounts of data (often from disparate sources), and draw business-specific conclusions and implications

  • Synthesis: Ability to turn large amounts of information into concise, actionable, and audience-appropriate communications for the sales and other key stakeholders

  • Writing and communication skills: able to communicate competitive information (both in writing and verbally) in a way that is very accessible to internal clients.

  • Motivated: Must be a "self-starter," that is, likes to take initiative and run with complex projects

  • Resourcefulness: Excellent investigative skills (or at least the willingness to learn and apply techniques) to find information on smaller or niche competitors to support field requests; especially proficient with complex internet search techniques
